Siting locally unwanted land uses (LULUs) is a major policy problem throughout the industrialized world. This research project aims to examine the underlying causes for facility siting impasse in Asia and other countries and to suggest ways and strategies that help resolve siting conflicts. It provides a platform for decision-makers, environmental assessment and planning professionals, academics, environmental and community groups to share experiences and to map the best way
forward to meet the challenges of sustainable development. |
